Retool is seeking a Support Engineer to join their growing team in London. Retool's mission is to bring good software to everyone. The Support Engineer will play a crucial role in helping customers build the systems and tools they need to run their businesses. This role involves communicating with developers, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing guidance on best practices.
What this role involves:
- Communicating with developers to unblock technical issues
- Answering Retool development questions
- Troubleshooting database and API connections
- Brainstorming app structure and best practices
- Researching new topics and reporting back to customers
- Debugging database connections
- Writing JavaScript code examples
- Troubleshooting data structures, SQL queries, and API authentication
Requirements:
- 2–4 years in technical, customer-facing roles with strong communication skills
- Proficient in JavaScript, web development, and RESTful APIs
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases and diagnosing issues in production environments
- Skilled in troubleshooting SaaS infrastructure issues, including performance degradation and outages
- Creative problem solver with strong customer empathy
- Holds a relevant cloud certification (e.g., AWS or Google Cloud)
- Familiarity with React and ability to fix minor frontend bugs (Bonus)
