Data Engineering Manager

Job Description

Lantern is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead a team and shape the future of its Data Platform. Lantern is a specialty care platform connecting people with the best care when they need it most. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Data Architecture, batch processing frameworks, and Data Modeling techniques. The Data Engineering Manager will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the platform, ensuring smooth data ingestion and export processes.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver data solutions.
• Architect, build, and maintain data infrastructure.
• Implement Data Ingestion, Transformation, and Data Quality features.
• Collaborate in building data models.
• Define and enforce coding standards.
• Contribute to the creation of design documents.
• Support production jobs and mitigate issues.
• Partner with senior leadership to define Data Strategy and Roadmap.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
• 5+ years of hands-on programming experience with Python.
• 3+ years of experience managing a team or as a team lead.
• 4+ years of Cloud Experience: Azure (preferred)/AWS/GCP.
• 3+ years of working with EDI or HIE standards (e.g. X12, HL7, and/or FHIR).
• Experience in Modern Data Technologies like Spark, Databricks, and Kafka.
• Expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (preferred) or other relational databases.
• Experience in building data lakes.
• Strong communication skills.
