Job Description
Whatnot is seeking a Fullstack Engineer to join their Seller Merchandising team. This team is dedicated to building a connected marketplace for enthusiasts, focusing on enhancing the customer experience through essential components. The role involves improving reliability on core marketplace surfaces, building live experiences, and scaling the checkout experience.
What the role involves:
- Owning full page web migrations to Next.js
- Improving reliability on core marketplace surfaces
- Building live experiences to make purchasing more entertaining on Whatnot
- Scaling the checkout experience
Requirements:
- 5+ years of generalist software development experience in high growth startups
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of multiple programming languages (Python, Elixir, JavaScript preferred)
- Web development experience with React, using GraphQL for API development, and modern frontend applications (Next.js preferred)
- Excellent product instincts
- Ability to mentor others and prioritize building inclusive, supportive teams
- Strong ownership instincts and ability to own projects from inception to production
- Proven track record of delivering features
