Job Description
ShipBob is seeking a Software Development Engineer III to join their team. This role involves developing production-level software, collaborating with Product Owners and the Engineering Manager, and contributing to the company's technical direction. The ideal candidate will be a go-to expert in a specific area of the codebase and will influence decision-making at the Pillar level.
Role Involves:
- Becoming a go-to expert in one area of the codebase.
- Providing technical advice and weighing in on technical judgements.
- Researching and proposing new technologies.
- Scoping and staging work into well-defined milestones.
- Delivering software on-time and making accurate estimates.
- Owning the technical testing and performance plan for projects.
- Identifying and solving important problems.
- Setting direction at the project/service level.
- Identifying and proactively tackling technical debt.
- Making others better through code reviews and mentoring.
- Sitting on the Architectural Review Board.
- Understanding the tradeoffs between technical, analytical and product needs.
- Identifying and proposing strategies around technical problems.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience.
- Excellent problem-solving, programming, and communication skills.
- Object-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work quickly and collaboratively.
- Ability to own small to large features from design to implementation.
- Knowledge of OWASP and a defensive coding mindset.
- Experience with SQL, JSON, REST, .NET, C#, ASP.NET MVC, Javascript, Relational DB Concepts, Relational DB Design, Agile methodologies, team building, automating infrastructure and build processes.
