Staff Tax Accountant

Job Description

Palmetto, recognized by Forbes as one of the fastest-growing private companies, is seeking a Staff Tax Accountant to join their tax team. This role will focus on compliance items related to clean energy investment tax credits (ITC). The Staff Tax Accountant will work under the supervision of a Senior Tax Manager or Tax Director, focusing on day-to-day financial record-keeping and reporting.Responsibilities include:

• Accurately recording and tracking transactions related to IRS Clean Energy investment tax credits.
• Monitoring tax compliance email inbox and letters, routing them appropriately.
• Ensuring all ITC-related activities comply with regulations and GAAP.
• Assisting in the preparation of tax documents and financial reports related to ITC claims.
• Verifying data integrity in accounting systems related to ITC transactions.
• Collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth ITC processing.
• Identifying and implementing process improvements.
• Assisting with special projects as assigned.

Palmetto requires candidates to have:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and tax regulations related to investment tax credits.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
