Job Description

xAI is seeking a Data Center Operations Technician to maintain the health of its server and network infrastructure in Data Centers and Global Points of Presence. The technician will focus on minimizing mean time to detect (MTTD) and mean time to repair (MTTR). The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a fast learner, and available for on-site emergencies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshooting and monitoring servers and networks.
  • Racking and stacking network equipment.
  • Maintaining warehouse inventory and asset management.
  • Labeling and troubleshooting fiber/optic cables.
  • Power supply cabling, installation, and repair.
  • Installing racks, servers, and switches.
  • Managing data center operations tickets via Jira.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation.
  • Managing spare parts inventory.
  • Defining and implementing network layouts.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 6+ years of experience with server, storage, compute, and network hardware.
  • 6+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing servers and networking infrastructure.
  • 5+ years of experience in inventory management.
