GIS Intern

Job Description

Peak Energy is seeking a Geospatial Data Science Intern to support its business development teams. The intern will work with spatial data tools to identify and assess locations for renewable energy development. This is a paid internship lasting 12-24 weeks.

Responsibilities:

• Collect, clean, and process geospatial datasets
• Assist in building and maintaining geospatial models and dashboards
• Support development of automated spatial data pipelines
• Conduct spatial analysis and visualization
• Present insights and findings

Requirements:

• Pursuing a degree in Geoinformatics, Data Science, or related field
• Familiarity with geospatial analysis tools (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS, Google Earth Engine)
• Proficiency in Python (GeoPandas, Rasterio, Folium)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Interest in renewable energy and climate change
