Software Engineer - ITDR (Ruby/Rails)

Job Description

Huntress is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR) team. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving and communication skills to develop market-defining solutions for identity protection. This role involves building scalable solutions to emerging threats in a rapidly evolving landscape, often tackling problems with no existing template.

The Software Engineer will collaborate with senior engineers, security researchers, designers, and market experts. They will work across the stack, building new UI, scalable data models, and event ingestions, as well as automated detectors to alert customers and the SOC team to suspicious activity.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end solutions using primarily Ruby on Rails.
• Implement efficient data pipelines to extract relevant information from massive amounts of noise.
• Collaborate with security researchers to understand hacking strategies and methods to combat them.
• Continuously improve solution quality through code reviews, manual and automated testing, and suggesting team processes to make us more efficient.
• Build internal tooling for our SOC team to hunt for and quickly mitigate any intrusions.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience developing complex software products
• 2+ years of programming in Ruby on Rails
• Experience reviewing code, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting
• BS in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience gained through work experience
