The Daily Beast is seeking a Night Editor to play a crucial role in their 24-hour news operation. This role involves inspiring a small team to produce compelling stories, selecting engaging content for readers, collaborating with reporters to refine their work, working with the visuals team, and crafting impactful headlines.
Responsibilities:
- Inspire a small team to report and write brilliant stories.
- Choose stories which will make Beast readers click.
- Help reporters make their copy shine.
- Work with the visuals team to illustrate stories brilliantly.
- Give those stories the punchiest headlines.
Requirements:
- At least three years of experience in an editing role.
- Experience in managing reporters at a successful national or regional news website.
- A personal track record of journalistic success.
- A love of breaking news, particularly in politics.
