Job Description
Archer Aviation, an aerospace company focused on sustainable air mobility, is seeking a Senior Engineer for Flight Modeling & Simulation. This role is based in San Jose, California, and involves developing and maintaining physics models for eVTOL aircraft flight simulation. The Senior Engineer will contribute to vehicle-level trade studies and update system models based on test data to support vehicle certification. They will also collaborate with suppliers to integrate systems with vehicle-level simulation and conduct design analysis to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
- Develop Flight Simulation Physics Models for eVTOL aircraft.
- Conduct vehicle-level trade studies.
- Update system electrical, thermal, and performance model fidelity based on lab and flight test data to support vehicle certification.
- Work with internal and external suppliers to integrate their systems with vehicle-level simulation.
- Conduct design and analysis activities to verify business and regulatory requirements will be met with high confidence.
Requirements: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- 5 years (Bachelor's) or 2 years (Master's) of experience in eVTOL modeling and simulation, including developing Matlab Simulink models, control algorithms, flight control hardware, and flight dynamics.
