Job Description
NewGlobe, an organization dedicated to transforming public education systems, is seeking an Academic Manager. This role is based in Cotonou, Benin. The Academic Manager will be responsible for educational outcomes in schools, focusing on improving literacy and numeracy skills, as well as subjects aligned with the curriculum. They will manage academic events and initiatives, including schedules, academic calendars, teaching materials, course design, and other initiatives impacting teaching and learning. This role involves coordinating with NewGlobe's education specialists in instructional design, production, training, research, and innovation. The Academic Manager serves as a liaison between shared services and information from schools, government representatives, and civil society. A key deliverable is the annual academic plan, which the Academic Manager owns.Responsibilities:
  • Lead the execution and interdepartmental coordination of the core academic program.
  • Advocate for learning outcomes and serve as an academic expert.
  • Provide feedback to the instructional design team to improve learning outcomes.
  • Represent NewGlobe to key state stakeholders, including the government and civil society.
  • Conduct market research and regulatory studies to inform teaching systems and policies.
  • Identify areas for growth within academic offerings and create programs/policies to enhance student learning.
  • Manage the academic team based in your territory.
