Job Description
Fictiv is seeking a Solutions Engineer to support critical manufacturing functions. The role involves working at the interface between builders and manufacturing partners, contributing to the premier platform for hardware manufacturing. The Solutions Engineer will report to the Director of US Manufacturing Engineering & Global Standards.
What This Role Involves:
- Analyzing models, drawings, and parts lists to determine scope of work and manufacturing requirements.
- Generating quotes for builders and collaborating with external suppliers.
- Developing cost calculators for new service offerings.
- Providing DFx feedback to builders to improve manufacturability and reduce costs.
- Providing feedback to the quoting software team to improve accuracy.
- Generating high-quality 2D drawings per ANSI/ASME Y14.5 standards.
Requirements:
- Meticulous and detail-oriented with an inclination for documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Self-starter with efficient time management skills.
- Enjoys sharing knowledge and teaching others about manufacturing processes.
- 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent technical training.
- Understanding of GD&T and conventional tolerancing.
- Knowledge of manufacturability and limitations of common metals and plastics.
- Exposure to multiple custom mechanical manufacturing processes.
- CNC machining and 3D printing experience is a must.
