Director, Design Systems (Remote Eligible)

Job Description

Smartsheet is seeking a Director of Design Systems to lead the Smartsheet Design System (SDS) team. This role involves transforming Smartsheet into a leading enterprise-grade Collaboration and Work Management platform. The Director will own the strategic vision and execution for SDS, ensuring the delivery of tools, components, and strategies at an enterprise scale.Role involves:

• Leading and inspiring the team with a compelling vision.
• Developing and executing the SDS strategy.
• Leading cross-functional programs from ideation to launch.
• Collaborating closely with Engineering to accelerate delivery velocity.
• Maintaining high standards for design quality.
• Championing accessibility and localization.
• Promoting the importance of design systems.
• Overseeing the migration of existing capabilities to SDS.
• Building and empowering a high-performing team.

Requirements:

• 12+ years of experience leading and scaling design system teams.
• 6+ years leading and mentoring UX teams.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Experience working with Design Technologists and Engineers.
• Ability to build strong partnerships and influence stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of design principles and technology frameworks.
• Expertise in developing business cases.
• Strong people management skills.
