Senior IT & DevOps Systems Engineer (Baytek)

Job Description

Datacor is seeking a Senior IT & DevOps Systems Engineer to support and evolve the infrastructure behind Baytek International's industry-leading LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System). This role bridges engineering and IT operations, ensuring the scalability, reliability, and automation of the systems. The engineer will work closely with development teams to modernize environments, implement CI/CD pipelines, automate operational processes, and architect robust cloud-native systems using AWS and Azure. This role also includes responsibility for general IT services including systems monitoring, patching, and provisioning.Responsibilities include:

• Architecting, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure for the LIMS product across dev and production environments.
• Building and managing CI/CD pipelines to support fast, reliable software delivery.
• Automating deployment and environment provisioning tasks using tools like PowerShell, Bash, and Terraform.
• Collaborating with software engineers to troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues.
• Monitoring system health and performance across AWS and Azure platforms.
• Supporting internal IT and systems responsibilities for the LIMS engineering team.
• Implementing and managing patching, system provisioning, and ongoing system maintenance for both cloud and on-prem environments.
• Documenting operational procedures and automate repetitive tasks wherever possible.

Qualifications include:

• 3–7+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or IT systems engineering roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure, including services like EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, App Services, and related tooling.
• Experience with CI/CD systems (e.g. GitLab, BitBucket, Azure DevOps, etc.).
• Proficiency in scripting or automation with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
• Familiarity with managing Windows and Linux-based environments.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with both software engineers and business stakeholders.
