Job Description
Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Spacecraft Systems Engineer I/II to join their Space Systems team in Littleton, CO. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of technical budgets, requirements definition, test planning and execution, and overall management of the systems engineering process. They will also work hands-on with flight hardware and drive the technical development of Space Systems missions.Rocket Lab's Space Systems team is responsible for every satellite and satellite component made by Rocket Lab. This includes complete satellites destined for missions to the Moon and Mars, to the individual components and subsystems that make up a satellite like solar panels, flight software, reaction wheels and star trackers, separation systems, radios, and more.
What this role involves: - Developing and maintaining technical budgets for vehicle performance.
- Creating system requirements and verification techniques.
- Performing simulations and analysis across vehicle functions.
- Developing test methods and data analysis.
- Leading and owning technical development of spacecraft missions.
- Assisting with program and product management.
- Developing interface specifications, CONOPS definition, and other design documents.
Requirements: - U.S. citizenship is required, due to program requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (software, computer, electrical, aerospace, mechanical, or other technical engineering discipline).
- 5+ years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry (for Senior Spacecraft Systems Engineer I) or 8+ years (for Senior Spacecraft Systems Engineer II).
- Experience supporting satellite or spacecraft development programs.
