Job Description
SpotOn is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Lawyer to join their in-house legal or HR compliance team in Mexico. The candidate will be responsible for advising and managing all legal matters related to labor and employment. This includes employee relations, disciplinary actions, internal investigations, terminations, severance agreements, and compliance with Mexican labor law. The successful candidate will act as a strategic advisor to HR and leadership, mitigating legal risks and ensuring fair and legally compliant workplace practices.Role involves:
  • Providing legal counsel on employee relations matters and conflict resolution.
  • Leading and supporting termination processes and severance agreements.
  • Ensuring full compliance with Mexican labor law.
  • Conducting or supporting internal investigations.
  • Drafting and updating employee-related policies.
  • Training staff on labor law obligations.
  • Supporting responses to labor authority audits.
  • Ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Collaborating with various departments on employment practices.
Requirements:
  • Law degree (Licenciatura en Derecho) from an accredited institution in Mexico.
  • Active Mexican Bar (Cédula Profesional).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience practicing labor law.
  • Deep knowledge of Mexican labor law.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience conducting internal investigations and drafting legal documents.
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential information.
  • Fluent in Spanish and proficient in English.
