Job Description
Forter is seeking a Senior Observability Engineer to enhance the developer experience and observability practices within the company. This role involves working with cutting-edge technologies and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability and ease of troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have a strong development background and hands-on experience with observability tools such as ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Honeycomb, and OTel.
What This Role Involves:
- Collaborating on the design, building, and maintenance of Forter’s observability, monitoring, and alerting systems.
- Working alongside a senior engineer to complete the migration from the existing ELK stack to a more scalable platform.
- Collaborating with engineering teams to improve their observability practices.
- Creating a culture of continuous learning through knowledge sharing and team discussions.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in a relevant field.
- Self-driven with a passion for building high-quality, sustainable software.
- Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Mimir, Grafana, ELK, Honeycomb, Loki, Quickwit).
- Experience building and monitoring systems using modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, Ruby).
- Extensive experience with AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, or other cloud platforms and container orchestration tools.
