Legal Specialist

Job Description

Cake, originating from Taiwan, is seeking a Legal Specialist to join its global Legal Department. The successful candidate will be adaptable, collaborative, and embody Cake's values. They will approach complex legal issues with a balance of local and global perspectives, while being adaptable to cultural differences.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the management team and collaborate with teams across the company.
• Keep Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and commercial and employment contracts updated.
• Conduct fact-finding investigations, gather information, and identify documents/data.
• Coordinate with external legal counsel, review advice, and assist with internal recommendations.
• Support or drive case management, workflows, task lists, and overall case organization.
• Support or drive projects related to tooling, process, or policy improvements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in legal work in a law firm, government, or in-house legal department.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin (spoken and written).

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience working on complex internet technology, SaaS or general litigation.
• Understanding of Cake or related applications.
• Ability to effectively and efficiently manage numerous cases and projects.
• Ability to adapt and succeed in a fast-paced, innovative, and collaborative environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills.
