Merchant Risk Officer

Job Description

Alma is seeking a Merchant Risk Officer to join their team in Lille, France. Alma's mission is to provide financial products that empower merchants to sell more and help consumers purchase better products. The company is a leader in the Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) industry, processing payments in multiple European countries.

The Merchant Risk Officer will play a crucial role in monitoring merchant activity, identifying fraud patterns, and ensuring compliance with Alma's terms and conditions. This role involves analyzing merchant accounts, managing unusual behavior alerts, conducting in-depth research into merchants, and communicating with internal teams on risk-related issues.

Role Involves:

• Analyzing merchant accounts for compliance.
• Managing unusual behavior alerts and risk of default.
• Conducting in-depth research into merchants suspected of fraud.
• Monitoring merchant activity and identifying fraud patterns.
• Establishing reports to improve control processes.
• Communicating with merchants on risk management issues.
• Serving as a point of contact for internal teams on merchant risk issues.

Requirements:

• Rigorous with good investigation skills.
• Interest in e-commerce, fintech, tech, and fraud prevention.
• Detail-oriented and thorough.
• Analytical with the ability to make autonomous decisions.
• Comfortable with uncertainty and adaptable to change.
• Good writing skills and communication in French and English.
• Good IT skills; SQL skills are an asset.
