Job Description
Northeast Dermatology Associates (NEDA) is seeking a Mohs Medical Assistant/Surgical Technician to deliver patient-centered care to individuals undergoing Mohs surgery. The role involves maintaining a safe and efficient environment by conducting pre-surgical evaluations, providing patient and family education, assisting with surgical procedures, managing patient flow, and maintaining patient records.
The role involves:
- Conducting initial assessments and developing care plans.
- Providing pre-operative and post-operative education.
- Preparing the surgical area and assisting the surgeon.
- Administering anesthesia under supervision.
- Documenting patient care in the EMR system.
- Maintaining a sterile environment.
- Monitoring patient safety.
- Operating and maintaining surgical equipment.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a medical assistant or surgical technician.
- Experience in dermatology is preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
- Expertise in using surgical instruments and maintaining sterile environments.
