Wellpower is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join their team at the Recovery Center in Denver. This role involves working closely with the clinical team to provide essential medical support to consumers. The CMA will be responsible for various clinical tasks and administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of the center.
Responsibilities include:
- Collecting blood specimens and preparing them for lab work/testing.
- Interviewing consumers to obtain medical information.
- Measuring vital signs: such as: pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height.
- Recording consumers’ medical history, vital statistics and information such as test results into medical records.
- Communicating relevant medical information to medical and clinical staff as part of the treatment team.
- Coordinating medical care and intervention with staff and Psychiatrist.
- Maintaining a trauma informed environment of wellbeing.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Completion of educational program necessary to obtain a Medical Assistant diploma.
- Certification is required.
- One year working a medical/clinic environment.
- Experience working in a community mental health center or within a mental health field is strongly preferred.
