Job Description
Smartsheet is seeking a Director of Product Design to lead and expand its team of Product Designers. This role involves applying design thinking principles to create engaging user experiences for Smartsheet's web and mobile applications. The Director will be responsible for enhancing the skills of their team, establishing efficient processes, and leveraging their expertise to guide the team toward achieving greater accomplishments. They will collaborate with designers, user researchers, engineers, product managers, and executives to promote human-centered methodologies across the product team.
Role involves:
- Establishing and driving a vision for the future of design at Smartsheet.
- Defining user experience strategy and vision.
- Managing UX designers and ensuring adherence to human-centered processes.
- Building and scaling UX processes, standards, and tools.
- Mentoring and coaching UX designers.
- Understanding and communicating user needs to cross-functional teams.
- Translating business goals into innovative product experiences.
Requirements:
- 12+ years of experience in a cross-functional role managing strategic projects.
- 6+ years leading and mentoring UX teams.
- Experience leading a large team of designers (10+).
- Experience designing for enterprise SaaS platforms.
- Expertise in Figma, Creative Cloud, or similar tools.
- Strong visual design skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
