Job Description
Kasa is seeking a Head of Accounting and Financial Reporting to lead their corporate and property-level accounting teams. This role involves modernizing the accounting function through automation and scalable solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hotel management agreement reporting standards, lease accounting, and GAAP reporting. A CPA license is strongly preferred. This is a remote role reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.

Role Involves:
  • Improving property-level reporting scalability.
  • Communicating company financial performance to investors and leadership.
  • Innovating new ways to report and analyze property-level performance.
  • Improving efficiency and automation through new technologies.
  • Inspiring the finance team to strive for more.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely reporting for properties and corporate investors.
  • Overseeing and inspiring a team of approximately 20 people.
  • Ensuring SOC and audit compliance.
  • Overseeing multiple external partnerships with tax, audit, real estate, and legal firms.

Requirements:
  • At least 10 years of experience leading accounting/reporting teams in the hotel or real estate industry.
  • Significant experience with hotel management agreement reporting standards (USALI and GAAP), lease accounting, and familiarity with ownership structures common in the commercial real estate industry.
  • Experience with corporate company-level reporting, including GAAP financial reporting, equity accounting, and corporate KPI analysis.
