Job Description
Axon is seeking a Sr. DFx Engineering Program Manager II to contribute to the development and launch of new products. This role involves supporting the Engineering Program Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure designs are ready for scale. The candidate will be deeply involved in prototype builds, factory readiness, and the development of automation and test systems. Role involves:
  • Supporting the Engineering Program Manager in planning and executing builds.
  • Driving DFM and DFA activities with design engineering teams.
  • Leading the development and coordination of assembly/test processes.
  • Performing tolerance stack-up analysis on assembly jigs and fixtures.
  • Providing hands-on support in the design of tools, jigs, and factory layouts.
  • Designing and executing Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborating with Axon Manufacturing, contract manufacturers (CMs) and joint development manufacturers (JDMs).
  • Driving root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Tracking factory readiness across various functions.
  • Conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Analyzing production data and test results.
  • Developing Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, and Hazard Analysis.

Requirements:
  • B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related engineering field.
  • 10 years of experience in NPI, manufacturing, or automation engineering.
  • Experience in electronics, consumer hardware and automotive devices.
  • Track record of successful product launches in a technical role.
  • Proficient with DFM principles, fixture design, SolidWorks (or other CAD tools).
  • Experienced in SMT, FATP, Flexible and rigid PCBAs, and Board to board connections (B2B).
  • Strong communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong statistical proficiency, including DOE, GR&R, SPC, etc.
  • Expertise in manufacturing and assembly processes.
