Job Description
Carta is seeking a Chief of Staff to support the CMO. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful execution of Carta's marketing strategy. The Chief of Staff will work closely with the CMO to identify and solve marketing obstacles, drive operational efficiency, foster effective communication, and provide strategic support. This role will contribute significantly to the growth and success of Carta's marketing function.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a conduit for the marketing leadership team and other company leaders for the CMO.
- Own CMO internal communications in partnership with the CMO and marketing leadership team.
- Conduct research, prepare reports, and deliver presentations to support data-driven decision-making.
- Serve as a key resource and thought partner to the CMO.
- Act as a liaison between the C-level executives and stakeholders.
- Build relationships with CoS peers across the Carta executive team.
- Prepare and coordinate materials for executive meetings.
- Lead special projects and initiatives.
- Ensure the organization is exceeding targets and on track for key initiatives.
- Work closely with marketing leadership to optimize best practices.
- Act as a thought partner to our CMO.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a Chief of Staff and/or in communications roles in Marketing.
- Ability to understand complex marketing dynamics and approaches.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to act in the CMO’s stead at meetings when needed.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in budget development and goal setting.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
- Proficiency in project management tools, collaboration software, and Google Suite.
- An understanding of how sub-functions of marketing come together for impact.
- A level of character that builds trust and exemplifies working collaboratively.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field.
- MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
