Job Description

Lightspeed is seeking a Product Marketing Manager, Payments Experience to enhance the merchant experience within Lightspeed Payments. This role involves leading go-to-market strategies, refining positioning, and boosting the adoption of features aimed at reducing friction, such as chargeback resolution, payment failure management, and reconciliation tools. The Product Marketing Manager will collaborate closely with Product, Strategy, Support, and Sales teams to ensure that improvements in the payments experience result in higher customer satisfaction and feature adoption.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic and curious thinker who excels at solving customer pain points through clear messaging, seamless enablement, and process automation. Success in this role requires building strong relationships across various teams and helping to shape the launch and lifecycle strategy for experience-focused capabilities. The role also involves identifying and scaling new ways of working across teams to improve service to merchants.

What this role involves:

  • Owning positioning and messaging for Lightspeed Payments features.
  • Defining how Lightspeed Payments is integrated and communicated within the broader Lightspeed platform.
  • Collaborating with Product and Product Operations teams to identify friction points.
  • Developing and maintaining persona insights and merchant segmentation.
  • Leading go-to-market planning for feature enhancements.
  • Conducting ongoing competitive research.
  • Partnering with Support, Enablement, and Sales to ensure teams are well-equipped.
  • Measuring and analyzing the impact of product launches and GTM campaigns.
  • Creating feedback loops with Sales, Support, and Merchant Success.
  • Using qualitative and quantitative research to validate positioning.
  • Collaborating with Integrated Marketing and Campaigns to develop content.

Requirements:

  • 2–4 years of experience in product marketing, ideally within payments, fintech, or B2B SaaS.
  • Solid understanding of payment processing workflows.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on experience developing positioning and go-to-market strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize customer insights and support data.
  • Strong collaboration skills and proven success working with cross-functional teams.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity, with a proactive mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience conducting and leveraging qualitative and quantitative research.
  • A growth mindset and curiosity about the merchant journey.
