Job Description
Aetion, a global leader in real-world evidence research, is seeking an Associate Director to join their Scientific Consulting Team. This role is based in New York City and focuses on oncology research. The Associate Director will provide scientific and strategic leadership, advising clients on research programs and analytic services. They will also mentor and manage a scientific team, ensuring performance goals are met and professional development is fostered.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading scientific and analytic services for clients, aligning with their objectives.
- Providing expert guidance on study designs, analysis approaches, and research methodology, particularly in oncology.
- Overseeing operational objectives, strategy development, and resource management.
- Communicating the scientific impact of evidence generation to audiences and the value of services to clients.
- Collaborating with cross-functional leaders to define strategic business goals.
Requirements include:
- Master's + 5 years experience; Doctoral degree + 3 years experience in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Economics or related field.
- Experience designing observational studies using large US-based administrative claims or EHR data.
- Strong understanding of RWE data and epidemiological methods in oncology research.
- Applied experience using US-based oncology RWD (e.g., Flatiron, ConcertAI, COTA, Tempus).
- Expertise in epidemiologic and biostatistical principles, with a focus on pharmacoepidemiology and HEOR.
- Experience in leading teams, including mentoring junior scientific staff.
- Proven ability to build strategic relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
