Job Description

PlayStation is seeking an IT Support Specialist for a contract role in Playa Vista, CA. This role is more than just desktop support; it requires a blend of skills from desktop support, helpdesk, and system administration. The ideal candidate will be proficient in client technologies and dedicated to fostering strong relationships with technology users.

The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for providing helpdesk support, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with remote sites. They will also develop documentation, perform first and second-level support, and maintain relationships with business units. Proactive problem-solving, performance tuning, and research into new technologies are also key aspects of this role. The role involves an on-call rotation for system maintenance and emergencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides helpdesk-level coverage and support for internal clients.
  • Coordinates, diagnoses, and troubleshoots incoming employee requests for support.
  • Solves technical problems and information technology issues.
  • Collaborates with remote sites.
  • Develops, documents, and implements standard operating procedures.
  • Performs first and second level support and troubleshooting for workstation and mobile systems.
  • Interfaces directly with end users, leads and resolves incidents.
  • Establishes and maintains direct relationships with business units.
  • Organizes, communicates effectively, and works proactively.
  • Applies performance tuning techniques.
  • Researches new trends and technologies.
  • Participates in an on-call rotation.
  • Performs inventory management.
  • Configures and manages user account provisioning and permissions.

Requirements:

  • Identifies and resolves problems effectively.
  • Strong in client hardware and software.
  • Strong email/messaging troubleshooting experience.
  • Mid to advanced-level understanding of Windows OS.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and other production software packages.
  • Understands and communicates system concepts to end users and technical teams.
  • Familiar with distributed build systems and enterprise storage technologies.
  • Basic networking skills and knowledge of security concepts.
  • Ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Manages competing demands and adapts to changing situations.
  • Takes responsibility, keeps commitments, and completes tasks on time.
  • Actively available and responsive.
  • Volunteers readily and seeks increased responsibilities.
  • Operates across multiple projects concurrently.
