Job Description

AXS is seeking a Director of Lifecycle Marketing to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. The Director of Lifecycle Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive customer retention, engagement, and revenue through owned marketing channels, including email, app push notifications, SMS, and other personalized messaging. This role will oversee the full customer lifecycle, from onboarding to re-engagement and loyalty, leveraging data-driven automation, personalization, and segmentation.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of lifecycle marketing strategies, CRM tools, and AI-driven customer engagement tactics. They will manage a team to design and optimize automated journeys that enhance the customer experience while delivering measurable business impact.

What this role involves:

  • Developing and leading a comprehensive lifecycle marketing strategy.
  • Overseeing execution of personalized, automated messaging campaigns.
  • Defining and optimizing messaging strategies for key lifecycle stages.
  • Collaborating with analytics and data teams to enhance segmentation.
  • Aligning lifecycle marketing strategies with broader business goals.
  • Leading A/B and multivariate testing for messaging.
  • Analyzing customer behavior and campaign performance.
  • Partnering with MarTech to implement personalization and recommendation engines.
  • Maintaining best practices for deliverability and messaging hygiene.
  • Managing end-to-end process for one-off email campaigns.
  • Streamlining workflows and communication with account managers.
  • Collaborating with data teams to refine segmentation and improve E-Card targeting and engagement.
  • Partnering with MarTech to optimize Salesforce Marketing Cloud integrations and scale campaign delivery.
  • Maintaining an ongoing A/B testing roadmap to optimize campaign creative, timing, targeting, and personalization.
  • Collaborating with MarTech and engineering to improve automation, data integrations, and system workflows.
  • Mentoring and leading a team of lifecycle marketing managers and specialists.
  • Managing relationships with key technology vendors.
  • Ensuring global compliance with regulations.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience developing and executing lifecycle marketing programs.
  • Proven track record of leveraging customer data and predictive modeling.
  • Strong analytical background with expertise in measuring campaign performance.
  • Experience managing both automated and one-off email campaigns.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with data and MarTech teams.
  • Technical expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Proven success in recruiting, mentoring, and managing lifecycle marketing specialists.
  • Experience partnering with multiple stakeholders, including international marketing teams.
  • Advanced understanding of customer lifecycle strategies and CRM-driven engagement.
  • Strong ability to analyze campaign metrics, test strategies, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with compliance and messaging best practices.
