The New York Times is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to oversee a team responsible for the daily operations of several news desks. This role involves managing operations managers, providing mentorship, and streamlining operations. The Senior Operations Manager will report to a Deputy Director in Newsroom Operations.
Responsibilities: - Manage a team of operations managers.
- Oversee logistics for smooth daily operation of departments.
- Work with the News Finance team on budgets and financial reports.
- Manage work and vacation schedules.
- Approve expenses and travel costs.
- Manage freelancers and vendors, process payments.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable.
- Assist with position management transactions.
- Facilitate Workday management and onboarding.
- Purchase supplies and equipment, track expenses.
- Work in Coupa for contractor onboarding and purchasing.
- Troubleshoot and assist writers and editors.
- Help with special events.
- Support journalistic independence.
