Job Description
The New York Times is seeking a Director of Strategic Communications, Emerging Technology to lead the company's communications approach to emerging technologies, including Generative AI. This role involves working with executive-level stakeholders to develop and deploy communications strategies for high-profile issues.Responsibilities include:
  • Leading the emerging technology communications portfolio.
  • Spearheading executive communications strategy and messaging.
  • Working with a rapid response team to manage new issues.
  • Leading on core strategic messaging for The New York Times around emerging technologies.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in communications, preferably in technology or legal communications.
  • Knowledge of trends in tech and media, Generative AI developments, and stakeholder approaches.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Experience supporting senior executives in external communications.
  • Stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience preparing communications plans around high profile litigation.
