Job Description
The New York Times is seeking a Senior Recruiter for a temporary six-month role focused on Newsroom and Wirecutter Editorial positions. This role is based in New York, NY and requires a hybrid work arrangement of 3 days per week in the NYC headquarters.She will manage the full-cycle recruiting process, source candidates, and apply advanced interviewing techniques to bring the right people on board. The Senior Recruiter will report to the Director of Talent Acquisition, Newsroom.
Responsibilities: - Conduct full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and negotiating offers.
- Meet with managers and HR to identify hiring needs and develop a hiring plan.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with hiring managers and key stakeholders.
- Maintain ongoing communications with hiring managers and candidates on the hiring process.
- Partner with hiring teams to interview candidates through a structured interview process.
- Advise hiring managers in making hiring decisions.
- Work with team members to coordinate the interview process.
- Source qualified candidates through job sites, databases, networking, etc.
- Select and present qualified candidates to hiring teams.
- Create reports on hiring progress and other recruiting metrics.
- Maintain a pool of candidates through strategic sourcing, research, and excellent candidate experience.
- Identify and provide insights on trends, issues, and opportunities in the marketplace.
- Articulate blockers and challenges in searches and come up with solutions.
- Demonstrate support and understanding of journalistic independence.
Requirements: - 6+ years of experience working in high-touch, full-cycle recruitment.
- 2+ years of experience recruiting in a creative or editorial environment.
- 4+ years of experience managing requisitions in an ATS, e.g., Greenhouse.
- 1+ year working on an in-house talent acquisition team.
- 4+ years of experience building and improving hiring processes and providing excellent candidate experience (preferred).
- 1+ years of experience working in an OFCCP-compliant environment (preferred).
- Experience in newsroom recruitment (preferred).
