Senior Python Software Engineer- Data Experience

Job Description

YouGov is seeking a Senior Python Software Engineer to join the Crunch team. This role is focused on designing and developing data systems and APIs to support Crunch’s analytics experience for YouGov’s research projects and syndicated data products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating innovative, intuitive, accessible, and engaging experiences for the world’s leading brands.This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to work with a distributed team of developers and operators.What this role involves:

• Developing effective ways to store, query, and interactively analyze large datasets.
• Collaborating with product managers, sales, and customer success teams to understand system requirements.
• Contributing to code quality through unit testing, integration testing, code review, and system design using Python.
• Establishing realistic timelines and ensuring projects meet deadlines.
• Assisting in diagnosing and fixing system failures.
• Designing and implementing RESTful API endpoints using Python.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in a Linux environment.
• Proven record of successful delivery of SaaS and cloud-based applications.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Extensive programming experience using Python.
• Commitment to producing robust, testable code.
• Results-driven, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
• Excellent communication skills.
