Job Description
Reddit is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead its Data Pipeline team. This team is responsible for the infrastructure that generates, ingests, and processes petabytes of data used across Reddit. The Engineering Manager will drive reliability, scalability, and innovation in Reddit's critical data systems. They will partner with teams across the company and work at the center of Reddit's real-time and batch data ecosystem.Role involves:
- Leading the design and evolution of Reddit’s Data Pipeline.
- Driving high-impact projects aligned with Reddit’s goals.
- Building and growing a high-performing team.
- Establishing best practices for data production and governance.
- Ensuring pipeline reliability and low latency.
- Collaborating with engineering teams across Reddit.
- Extending data infrastructure capabilities.
- Continuously developing technical and leadership skills.
Requirements:
- 2-4 years of experience in people management.
- 7+ years of experience in large-scale backend distributed systems.
- Strong focus on scalability, performance, and quality.
- Advocacy for the user and intuition for data infrastructure systems.
- High empathy and excellent communication skills.
- Experience in Go, Kubernetes, Flink, Kafka, BigQuery is a plus.
- BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
