Job Description
Monzo is seeking a Global Payments Operations Manager to join their Payments Collective. This role is crucial for expanding and scaling Monzo's international payments offering, ensuring processes are quick, seamless, and efficient. The Operations Manager will be embedded within the Global Payments product team, collaborating with teams across Monzo and external partners to ensure seamless international payments for customers. They will set up and manage key partnerships, build scalable operational processes, and represent the customer's voice within the team.

Role involves:
  • Taking ownership of operations, building, scaling, and managing processes.
  • Optimizing support and streamlining internal processes with Customer Ops partners.
  • Analyzing customer problems and process inefficiencies using data.
  • Prioritizing and proposing solutions to improve customer outcomes and optimize processes.
  • Establishing and managing SLAs to optimize product and process performance.
  • Setting up new partnerships and managing the performance of existing suppliers.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and expand international payments products.
  • Developing systems, practices, and tools to unblock the team from product delivery.

Requirements:
  • Experience with international payment systems like SWIFT and schemes like SEPA.
  • Understanding of correspondent banking and foreign exchange.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, thriving on ambiguity.
  • Experience managing relationships with suppliers and partners.
  • Ability to build and scale complex operational systems.
  • Strong strategic reasoning and prioritization skills.
  • Comfortable with technical systems and working with engineering teams.
  • Problem-solving skills and a track record of managing performance and SLAs.
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to drive clarity amidst ambiguity.
  • Organized with experience managing complex projects.
  • Analytical and data-driven decision-making.
