PhonePe Group is seeking an Area Sales Manager to drive merchant acquisition and servicing in the offline space within an assigned geographical area. The Area Sales Manager will lead a team of 8-10 Business Development Executives and report to the Area Sales Manager. This role is crucial for expanding PhonePe's market share in the offline business sector.
- Growing merchant network through acquisition and servicing.
- Driving quality in execution through audits and reviews.
- Meeting merchants to present products and manage escalations.
- Monitoring competition and sharing inputs with leadership.
- Ensuring brand visibility in the assigned territory.
- Participating in promotional events to cultivate customer relationships.
- Facilitating hiring and onboarding of Business Development Executives/Team Leads.
- Providing on-the-job training to the front line sales team.
- Monitoring KPIs and coaching team members.
- Working towards retention and engagement of the sales team.
Requirements: - MBA from Tier 2/3 campus with good academic record.
- 2-4 years of experience in sales managing a sales team.
- Experience in Telecom, FMCG, or Retail (B2C preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong sales/customer service focus.
- Field sales experience with a proven track record of increasing sales and revenue.
- Exposure to the start-up environment is an advantage.
- Problem-solving abilities with a bias for impact.
- Strong ethics and discretion.
- Drive for results and ability to quantify success.
