Job Description
The Area Sales Manager role at PhonePe involves driving merchant acquisition and servicing within a designated geographical area through a team of Business Development Executives. The incumbent will play a key role in driving market share of PhonePe in offline business.
Responsibilities:
- Grow merchant network through acquisition and servicing.
- Drive quality in execution through audits and reviews.
- Present products to merchants and manage escalations.
- Monitor competition and provide inputs to leadership.
- Ensure brand visibility in the assigned territory.
- Facilitate hiring, onboarding, and training of BDEs/TLs.
- Monitor KPIs and coach team members.
- Drive team retention and engagement.
Requirements:
- MBA from Tier 2/3 campus with good academic record.
- 2-4 years of experience in sales managing a sales team.
- Experience in Telecom, FMCG, or Retail (B2C preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Field sales experience with a proven track record.
- Exposure to the start-up environment is an advantage.
- Problem-solving abilities and strong ethics.
