Senior Software Engineer, Core Product

Discord is seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to join its Core Product team. This role focuses on enhancing the core value of Discord, including chatting, hanging out with friends, and self-expression. The Senior Engineer will work across the full stack to build impactful features that make Discord the best place to play games and connect with friends online. The position is based in the US and can be remote.

What this role involves:

• Building high-quality products with a focus on performance and impact.
• Collaborating with Product, Design, Data Science, UX Research, and Marketing teams.
• Finding solutions that balance user experience, speed of delivery, and impact.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Experience with React (preferred) and/or JavaScript.
• Experience building consumer-facing products on web and mobile platforms.
• Expertise in web or mobile front-end development.
• Eagerness to learn new languages and frameworks.
• Experience working in a product team with clear metrics goals.
• Strong product sense and attention to detail in UX.
• Motivation to help team members succeed and grow.
