Associate Technical Manager (Viator)

Job Description

Viator, a Tripadvisor company, is seeking an Associate Technical Manager to lead and develop a high-performing technical pod in their Lisbon office. This is a hybrid role, requiring some on-site presence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for mentoring engineers, fostering a collaborative culture, and partnering with the Product Manager to execute the pod's roadmap. • Leading and developing a small technical pod.
• Mentoring and developing engineers.
• Partnering with the Product Manager to create and execute a roadmap.
• Contributing code and technical designs.
• Ensuring the operational health of systems.

Requirements:

• At least 6 years of experience in commercial software development.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in leading a team.
• Experience in mentoring junior engineers.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams.
• Background in a product-focused company.
• Solid understanding of Java and full-stack systems.
• Good understanding of modern distributed architectures, SOLID, and DRY principles.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, distributed version control, and TDD.
