Staff Product Designer - Design System

Job Description

Remote is seeking a Staff Product Designer - Design System to join their Product Design team. This role involves leading a cross-functional squad dedicated to evolving and scaling Remote's design system, Norma. The Staff Product Designer will develop tools, components, documentation, and materials to enable designers and engineers to create world-class experiences. They will also advocate for and collaborate with product designers, engineers, product managers, and stakeholders worldwide to drive adoption of the design system.Role involves:

• Leading design for Remote’s design system, Norma.
• Contributing to nearby product team whose scope overlaps with the design system.
• Collaborating closely with engineering to build scalable, polished components.
• Leading the maintenance, governance and evolution our design system.
• Developing the necessary materials and lead internal initiatives that help educate the organisation.
• Improving existing design systems components, while also working with the wider design organisation to evolve our visual design language.
• Championing our experience principles by ensuring usability, scalability and accessibility in all aspects of our design system.

Requirements:

• Exemplary experience designing, implementing, and evolving a maturing design system.
• An impressive portfolio of both product design and design systems work.
• Masterful communication skills.
• Comfortable in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
• Strong evidence of effective cross-functional collaboration.
