Senior Orbital Tube Welder

Job Description

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Orbital Tube Welder to join their team in Long Beach, California. This role involves welding and fabricating fluid systems and sub-assembly components for the Rutherford and Archimedes Rocket engines.Rocket Lab is a global leader in launch and space systems, responsible for building rockets and satellites that support vital space missions. The company's Electron rocket has provided reliable access to orbit since 2018, and they are currently developing Neutron, a reusable rocket for launching mega constellations.What this role involves:

• Following procedures to set up and operate the Orbital Weld System
• Welding assemblies according to work orders, blueprints, and verbal instructions
• Using inspection gauges
• Following blueprints to meet product specifications within tight tolerances
• Maintaining a clean work area

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in Orbital Tube Welding
• High School diploma or GED
• Experience with Inconel, stainless steel, and aluminum
• Knowledge of creating weld schedules
• Ability to cut and fit 1-6" tube tubing
