Lead CNC Machinist - B Shift

Job Description

Rocket Lab is seeking a Lead CNC Machinist for their B Shift at their headquarters in Long Beach, CA. This role involves leading a team responsible for the machining and fabrication of parts for various Rocket Lab programs, including Electron, Rutherford, Neutron, Archimedes, and Space Systems. The Lead Machinist will report to the Fabrication Supervisor and collaborate with teams such as Supply Chain, CNC Programming, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Design, and Propulsion.

• Overseeing the operation and maintenance of CNC equipment.
• Leading a team of machinists in development and production.
• Allocating resources to meet delivery schedules.
• Collaborating with engineering teams to ensure high-quality parts.

Requirements:

• 12+ years of professional machine shop experience.
• Ability to set up jobs on CNC Mills and Lathes.
• Ability to edit CNC programs.
• Experience machining a wide variety of materials.
• Experience leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent GD&T and blueprint familiarity.
