Job Description

Rocket Lab is seeking a Lead CNC Machinist for their C Shift at their Long Beach, CA headquarters. This role involves leading a team responsible for the machining and fabrication of parts for various Rocket Lab programs, including Electron, Rutherford, Neutron, Archimedes, and Space Systems.Rocket Lab is a global leader in launch and space systems, building rockets and satellites that enable vital space missions. The Lead Machinist will report to the Fabrication Supervisor and collaborate with teams such as Supply Chain, CNC Programming, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Design, and Propulsion.Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the operation and maintenance of CNC equipment.
• Leading a team of machinists through development and production.
• Allocating resources to meet delivery schedules.
• Collaborating with engineering teams to ensure high-quality parts.

Requirements:

• 12+ years of professional machine shop experience.
• Ability to set up jobs on CNC Mills and Lathes.
• Ability to edit CNC programs.
• Experience machining a wide variety of materials.
• Experience leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent GD&T and blueprint familiarity.
