Senior Fullstack Engineer, Customer Experience

Job Description

Whatnot is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join its Customer Experience team. This role involves building a world-class Customer Support platform to handle the company's rapid growth and high volume of customer support needs. The engineer will be responsible for resolving technical, purchasing, and logistics issues for both buyers and sellers, ensuring quick and reliable solutions with high customer satisfaction.Role involves:

• Building new user-facing experiences
• Scaling internal infrastructure
• Designing intelligent automation to solve customer issues efficiently
• Translating ambiguous business problems into clear technical solutions
• Driving delivery and experimentation

Requirements:

• 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience in high-growth startups
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• Proven track record of building end-to-end high-scale product experiences as a full-stack engineer
• Experience with Python on backend, Next.js on web, and/or Postgres databases is a plus
• Ownership mindset, with a history of shipping high-quality products and features quickly
• Product instinct to translate user needs into effective technical solutions
• Problem-solving skills to thrive in ambiguity and tackle challenging problems
• Team leadership skills to improve the team environment and foster an inclusive culture
• Must be within commuting distance of San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, or New York hubs
