Job Description
Whatnot is seeking a People Analytics Data Scientist to lead and build people analytics strategies. The role involves transforming data into actionable insights, optimizing talent metrics, and strengthening the analytical capabilities of the people team. This role combines strategic direction, first in role execution and hands-on expertise to ensure Whatnot finds and recruits top talent, improves team development and retention and drives employee engagement.
Role Involves:
- Leading and executing the people analytics strategy.
- Building out the people analytics structure.
- Delivering dashboards, reports, and presentations.
- Building and maintaining scalable data pipelines.
- Analyzing patterns in the data and utilizing predictive modeling.
- Collaborating with People Business Partners and senior leaders.
- Ensuring data integrity and alignment across systems and tools.
- Identifying, implementing, and managing people analytics tools and platforms.
- Driving communication and change management efforts.
- Enforcing responsible data use.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in the Data Analytics field.
- 3–6 years of experience in People/HR Analytics or related fields.
- Experience establishing and scaling a people analytics function.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python or R.
- Experience building ETL pipelines and integrating data from disparate systems.
- Committed to ethical use of employee data.
- Experience building scalable, automated reporting solutions using HRIS.
- Solid understanding of HR data and processes.
- Familiarity with survey design and employee research methodologies.
- Strong business acumen.
- Excellent communication skills.
