Job Description
Zinnia is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead their offline data initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data engineering and Big Data technologies, with expertise in Google BigQuery and Apache Airflow. This role involves building the next-generation data infrastructure and ensuring seamless data integration across various data realms. The Staff Data Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical expertise, and mentor junior engineers.
Role involves:
- Building data infrastructure using dbt, Apache Airflow, and Google Big Query.
- Designing and optimizing data workflows.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Troubleshooting complex data-related issues.
- Staying updated with industry trends and recommending best practices.
- Mentoring junior engineers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10-14 years of experience in big data, data engineering, or a similar role.
- Strong expertise in data integration, transformation, and scheduling processes using tools like Big Query.
- Proficiency in ELT/ETL processes and tools such as Informatica, DBT, Airbyte, Singer.io, Meltano, Apache Airflow.
- Familiarity with cloud-based environments and technologies.
- In-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts.
- Knowledge of data quality and governance principles.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects.
