Senior Director, Legal - Capital Projects

Job Description

AirTrunk is seeking a Senior Director, Legal - Capital Projects to join their team. This role is based in either Sydney or Singapore and reports to the Vice President, Legal. The Senior Director will oversee a team of lawyers, providing expert legal advice and support on all capital projects, including real estate acquisitions, construction, procurement, and energy-related initiatives. They will manage legal risks, ensure compliance, and support project delivery from start to finish. Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of project strategies by providing legal insights.
• Provide clear, commercial, and sound legal advice on capital projects.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of capex contracts.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, procurement, and operations teams.
• Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Identify and address legal risks associated with capex projects.
• Manage and resolve legal disputes.
• Identify and implement processes and procedures to streamline delivery of legal advice.

Requirements:

• A law degree and eligibility to hold a practicing certificate in the relevant jurisdiction.
• 8+ years PQE in real estate, construction, or infrastructure, with a focus on capital projects and data center developments.
• In-depth knowledge of real estate transactions, construction contracts, energy and/or other utility contracts, renewables, and regulatory frameworks.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proven leadership skills with experience in mentoring lawyers and leading legal teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A solid understanding of business operations.
