Staff Software Engineer

Job Description

PlayStation is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their team in creating new products for the PlayStation community. This role involves leading the architecture and implementation of kernel drivers and core software components to support accessory products on PlayStation and other platforms. The Staff Software Engineer will work within a small, versatile team, contributing to the foundation from the kernel up.Responsibilities include:

• Defining and executing the architecture of kernel mode drivers and associated modules.
• Integrating new capabilities into legacy codebases.
• Leading partner and contract engineering resources.
• Collaborating with HW, SW, and UX teams to establish requirements.
• Implementing modern software coding standards and development processes.
• Developing robust software test infrastructure.
• Cooperating effectively with other internal teams.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in core systems software development in C/C++.
• Experience with kernel development on FreeBSD or Linux.
• Excellent C programming and debugging skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience implementing automated regression testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field or equivalent.
