Job Description

PlayStation, a global leader in entertainment under Sony Interactive Entertainment, is seeking a Solutions Engineer to join their Technical Operations team. This role is crucial for bridging the gap between platform teams and internal customers, ensuring seamless integration with SIE’s Kubernetes-based platform and infrastructure.

The Solutions Engineer will play a key role in developing processes and tools to support customer engagement, streamline service delivery, and empower innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will be passionate about cloud-native technologies, on-premises infrastructure, and public cloud services.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical liaison between platform architecture, network architecture, platform engineering, and internal customers.
  • Assist customers in integrating with SIE’s Kubernetes platform, ensuring best practices and operational excellence.
  • Provide guidance on on-premise and public cloud infrastructure, including best-fit solutions for scalability, security, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve platform capabilities and optimize integration processes based on customer feedback.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, best practices, and training materials.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts and work proactively to resolve integration challenges.
  • Advocate for customer needs, driving continuous improvements to SIE’s platform infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in solutions engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of both on-premise compute and virtualization platforms and leading public cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.).
  • Experience with automation, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and related tools such as GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience in supporting real customers in a production support environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for a variety of audiences.
  • Passion for customer success and delivering high-quality solutions.
