Senior VP, Chief Actuary

Job Description

Global Atlantic Financial Group is seeking a Senior Vice President, Chief Actuary to lead the actuarial function for its Bermuda platform. This includes Global Atlantic owned entities and third-party capital entities sponsored and managed by Global Atlantic. The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately 20 individuals and report to the Chief Financial Officer of Global Atlantic Financial Company Bermuda Ltd. The Chief Actuary will collaborate with various teams across the organization, including investments, risk, finance, and IT, both onshore and offshore.Role involves:

• Leading the Bermuda actuarial team.
• Supervising the production of actuarial balances and analyses.
• Providing insightful analysis to senior management.
• Communicating results to senior management and the board of directors.
• Supporting the Risk team with BSCR and other capital metrics calculations.
• Ensuring proper documentation, control, and governance over the actuarial process.
• Conducting annual impact testing for potential assumption changes.
• Supporting audit and regulatory requests.

Requirements:

• 15+ years of actuarial experience in the life insurance industry.
• Fellowship actuarial designation.
• Experience with life insurance valuation and financial reporting.
• Annuity experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with asset adequacy frameworks (EBS, CALM, or CFT) strongly preferred.
• Actuarial modeling experience (ALFA or similar) a plus.
• Strong communication, technical, and analytical skills.
• Ability to take personal accountability for the execution of team goals.
• Ability to lead and motivate a large team.
• Ability to attract and develop talent.
